FORAYS

Join us for a delightful afternoon hiking through the woods, looking at available wildlife, nature and mushrooms. We will interact with the surrounding environment and discuss our findings during our time together.  As a knowledgeable bush crafter and certified mushroom forager,  Shannon Phillips of Winding Brook Farms, will share his knowledge related to “all things forest.”

 This hands-on workshop will teach you about fungi and how to inoculate your very own Shiitake Log. Bring your own drill and bit.  All other materials and supplies provided.

This informative class, Mushrooms for Everyday Wellness, will present the benefits of eating and using mushrooms for wellness.

Both Shannon Phillips  and Teresa Higgins are enthusiastic fungi educators and the class is in an easy to understand format.  Shannon is a citizen scientist with  over a decade of experience and is a certified wild mushroom forager.  His extensive fungi library and research are in demand by local businesses and universities. Teresa is a master educator that makes learning enjoyable! Take advantage of their expertise by scheduling this class.

Felting is a fun and relaxing hobby. Spend the afternoon learning this craft. Participants will come away with one felted mushroom!

AND LOG

INNOCULATION

Learn how to prepare your very own "grow - at - home kit with the guidance of  the team at Winding Brook Farms. Each participant will go home with a kit ready to begin the fascinating journey of growing mushrooms at home!              ________________________________________________

Experience  inoculating your own shiitake log to take home while visiting our farm. You will need a drill, 5/16 bit and hammer. All other supplies and instructions will be provided by your host.  This make-and-take workshop will provide you with ample information  to assist you in successfully growing your own mushrooms at home.
